(This is our reading program which can be accessed by clicking the link above).
Hello My Name Is...Mrs. Veltri
Highly motivated educator with strong background in early childhood education. I have been teaching since 1990 and have obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education & Psychology from Molloy College and a Masters of Science Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Adelphi University.
Entering kindergarten is an exciting time for children and their parents. Moving from the home or preschool to the school environment can be a frightening experience. Parents, teachers, and school administrators want this transition to be as smooth and pleasant as possible. Early childhood is a significant period in human development. It is a time when children begin to develop initiative, independence, decision-making ability, creativity, early literacy, numeration skills, the desire to learn, the ability to relate to others, verbal communication skills, and feelings of self worth. What young children learn in their 5th year will have a major impact on successful learning experiences in school, on their personal development and on future success and participation in life and society.

Morning Prayer:
Thank you God for another day, Guide my step along the way. And show me now what to do to make my life a joy to you.
Snack Prayer:
Bless us, O Lord, And these Thy gifts, Which we are about to receive, From Thy bounty, Through Christ our Lord, Amen. Our Lady of Peace, Pray for us.
Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
Sign of the Cross:
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Our Father:
Our Farther, Who are in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at he hour of our death. Amen.
